Types and materials

It is also very important to know whether you plan to use your conservatory all year round or only during the period from early spring until late autumn.

Conservatories can be divided into two types: heated and non-heated conservatories.

Heated conservatory

The structures of heated conservatories in Latvia are usually constructed from aluminium or wood profiles.

  • Conservatories constructed of aluminium profile systems are endurable, elegant, light and resistant to weather conditions. Aluminium is an environmentally friendly material which does not emit any harmful substances under the influence of outdoor environment, bit its costs are high and the design is limited.
  • Conservatories constructed from wooden profiles are aesthetically appealing, but demand serious care with time and the production costs are very high. Moreover, it will not be easily possible to create any interesting design as well.

Considering the wishes of our customers and the climate of Latvia, our company has developed an excellent alternative to the above structures – energy-efficient, aesthetically appealing, functional conservatory model with a very pleasing price.

The roof of our conservatory is made of aluminium profile system with PVC pads which is designed especially for conservatories, while the side walls are made of reinforced PVC profiles.

Specification of construction:

  • Roof drainage system
  • The construction of roof can be made of insulated glass units or 35 mm thick polycarbonate
  • If necessary, ventilation windows can be installed in the roof
  • Along the inner part of a conservatory, between the roof and the side walls, a lamp box can be installed
  • The colour of profiles can be white, laminated wood texture or one-colour laminated
  • The material is durable, it does not demand any additional maintenance, has very elegant design
  • Energy-efficient
  • Pleasing costs

Glazing

When the purpose of use, the type and the cardinal direction of the conservatory is clear, it is time to plan the glazing:

  • Roof construction – polycarbonate or insulated glass units with prestressed selective glass
  • Side walls - insulated glass units with selective glass

Non-heated conservatories

Non-heated conservatories are used during warm season. You can also test your non-heated conservatory in colder weather conditions after installing of some heating equipment.

  • Varian 1:

This type of conservatory structure can be also used for constructing of a heated conservatory, but you will need to ensure continuous ventilation for the non-heated variant, otherwise the conservatory will accumulate condensation or moisture which will damage furniture and leave the mould stains on the profiles.

Glazing:

  • Roof construction – polycarbonate or insulated glass units with prestressed selective glass
  • Side walls - insulated glass units with selective glass
  • Varian 2:

The structure is made of aluminium profiles without thermal insulation (cold system) with the sliding side walls made of aluminium systems without thermal insulation. In this case, you will not have to be concerned about condensation or moisture as the sliding system of the side walls will ensure ventilation by itself.

The main advantage of this construction is that it allows for wide opening of side walls in warm weather conditions. It is ensured by the sliding doors which move over one another. If necessary, you can take them out easily and store in the shed during summer.

Additional bonus – purchasing extra leafs, it is possible to install a mosquito net instead of glass. Replacing glass leafs by mosquito net leafs in summer, you will be able to enjoy fresh air in your conservatory without being annoyed by insects.
